What Drives the Price of Solar

Every home prices out differently, since roofs and electric bills vary so much. Below are the factors that change the number the most. We go over each one with you by phone and again in your written estimate.

After we review your bills and your roof, you get an itemized estimate in writing, and we hold to it unless you change the scope. If we run into something unexpected, we pause and talk it over with you before doing any added work.

Your power use
A household running a pool pump and two fridges through a North Texas summer needs more panels than a smaller one. The size of the system moves the price more than anything else.
How your roof is shaped
One plain roof facing south or west goes up faster. Multiple small roof sections, steep slopes or a roof crowded with vents and skylights take more racking and labor.
Which equipment you pick
String inverters, microinverters and optimizers differ in cost, monitoring and how they handle shade. We tell you which one suits your roof rather than reaching for the most expensive.
State of your electrical panel
In some older homes, the main panel needs an upgrade or an open breaker slot before solar can connect safely. We look at this early so it doesn't catch you off guard.
Including a battery
A battery brings added equipment and wiring, and its price depends on how much of your home you want running during an outage.

Solar Services for Your Home

Most people come to us for solar panel installation, and many add battery storage so the house keeps running when the grid goes down. If you already have panels, we handle solar repair for inverters, wiring and underperforming strings, plus panel cleaning when a film of dust and pollen is cutting into production. Roof-mounted solar is the bulk of our work, and we treat your roof as carefully as the equipment on top of it.

How We Work for You

We want you to feel the same way about us in year eight as you did on install day. That comes down to a few habits we keep on every job.

A system sized from your real bills

We start with twelve months of your usage, not a guess. If a smaller system covers what you actually use, that is the one we recommend.

Line-item estimates you can read

Panels, inverter, racking, electrical work, permits and interconnection each get their own line. You can see what you are paying for and ask about any of it.

Honest answers on repair or replace

When an older system stops producing, we test it first and show you photos of what we found. Often a single inverter or connector is the problem, and we will tell you so.

Care for your roof and yard

We flash and seal every roof penetration, keep conduit runs tidy and pick up after ourselves each day. You should not find stray screws in the flower bed.

Paperwork handled for you

We pull the city permit, schedule the inspection and file the interconnection application with the utility. We keep you posted at each step so nothing feels like a mystery.

A Solar Company Down the Road

We are a small solar outfit based in Irving, and almost all of our work is on homes around Dallas County and the edge of Tarrant County. That means the people who install your system are the same people you reach when you have a question two summers from now.

We like solar because it is one of the few home upgrades that pays you back every month. We also know it is a big decision, with plenty of high-pressure sales pitches out there. Our approach is simple: show you the real numbers, design the system your home needs and do the work carefully enough that you would recommend us to the folks next door.

How a Solar Job Runs

From the first phone call to the day your system turns on, here is what to expect.

  1. 1

    A phone call to start

We ask what your bills look like, what shape your roof is in and what you want solar to do. You get honest answers, including whether solar suits your home in the first place.

  2. 2

    Visit and layout

We take roof measurements, note shade from trees and nearby homes and check your electrical panel. Then we plan where the panels go and put together your itemized estimate.

  3. 3

    City permits and HOA sign-off

When you approve the design, we file the permit with the city and help with any HOA forms. How long approval takes varies, and we keep you posted along the way.

  4. 4

    The install

Most home installs run one to three days. We cover your landscaping, attach and seal the racking, set the panels and route conduit cleanly to your inverter and panel.

  5. 5

    Inspection and switching on

Once the city inspects, we send the interconnection request to the utility. When they grant permission to operate, we turn the system on and show you how to use your monitoring app.

What Homeowners Want to Know

Something not covered here? (972) 954-1315

What will solar cost for my house?

That comes down to your electric use, your roof layout and the equipment you pick. We review a year of bills and look at your roof before we quote. Your estimate is written and itemized, so you can line it up against other quotes fairly.

Does solar really cut electric bills in Texas?

For most homes that get good sun, it does. Your savings hinge on your usage, the size of your system and the buyback terms in your retail electricity plan, because Texas has no single required credit for extra power. We help you compare plans so your savings estimate stays realistic.

How do panels do in hail?

Good panels use tempered glass rated against hail, and most get through normal storms unharmed. Big hail can still crack them. If it does, we can inspect the system, photograph the damage and explain what your homeowner's insurance claim will need, though the coverage call belongs to the adjuster.

Should my roof be in good condition before solar?

Yes. Panels last for decades, so the roof beneath them needs plenty of years left. We look at it during the site visit, and if it's close to worn out, we'll tell you straight that it's smarter to handle that before panels go up.

What warranty do you give?

Our work carries a 10-year workmanship warranty on solar. The panels and inverters have separate manufacturer warranties too, and at turn-on we register the equipment and go over those terms with you.

Should I add a battery?

That depends on your priorities. A battery runs lights, the fridge and other essentials when the grid is down, and it can pay off if your plan gives little for power you send back. If backup doesn't matter much to you, panels by themselves may be the better deal, and we'll say so.

Is my HOA allowed to block solar?

Texas law restricts HOAs from banning rooftop solar outright, though many still want to approve the design. We draw up the layout and help you get it to your association so approval goes smoothly.
